So this ARG will be much like the first one in which LOST was just a TV show and not in the "real world" of the game itself.

@ Ramba: that's not breaking the fourth wall. They just want us to think Dharma is a 'real' organzation, from the ARG point of view.
We will have to wait another 5 days :(.

yeah well, but doesn't reffering to lost as a tv show completely destroy the illusion that the stuff in the arg is actually happening? i also found it cheesy when rachel blake appeared at comic con 2 years ago. ah well, i'll just ignore it. :p
I know this is going to sound selfish, but I might not play the ARG if it continues to move at this pace.

I know we are all waiting for ANY little bit and it can be frustrating.
However, for Find815, many fans were "left behind" because it started almost immediately.
Looks like they want to make sure as many fans as possible can get in at the beginning...however, that means some concern for the servers!!
BTw this is supposed to last the next 6 months so we will have to be patient for them to stretch this all out.

pfft so they're using the excuse it was "hacked" for the delay? Thats so stupid, they're meant to have "weekly tests". The dan bronson thing was scripted and it should mean they keep the updates on schedule. They obviously weren't prepared for the influx of interest from people.
What security update could they be talking about? Im getting very tired of this very fast.

@ Ramba: Personally I don't have such problem. And I felt fine to see RB appearing in the Comic Con 2 years ago. Maintaining LOST as a tv show actually saves them lots of trouble, since the majority of the viewers don't participate in the ARG.
BTW, the email has been pulled from the DharmaWantsYou website. The URL now redirects to the main page.

Also, the DWY site won't load for me anymore in Firefox (using Flash Beta 10) or Safari. Works fine in IE7 (with Flash 9).
For god sake... this is the same that they did in the first ARG. The Dharma Initiative will ALWAYS DENY every relation of the show Lost with the reality.
That was what Rachel Blake was about... trying to prove in part, by her appearance at the Comic Con (I don't really remember if there was something else she did to prove the show was real) that the show was real.
Here we have the same stuff going on... we just saw a video footage showing someone that already appeared in the show, and, of course, the DI dismissed the case.

Wow you guys are WAYYY to impatient. If the Arg moves at the pace you guys want, it will be over tomorrow. The ARG is supposed to last until January or February!! So guys don't be all I AM QUITTING THIS ARG, THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME A BRAND NEW TEST RIGHT ON THE ONE WEEK MARK!!
I agree with you, bigsimpsin! This thing is supposed to last until next year! I'm impatient, too, but what else would we have to keep our great group of Lost fans together for 5 months! Let's be thankful we've got something to look forward to at least to fill in the this long hiatus!

The Sureright door thing emphasised one thing
that was Entry and The Bagua. If you go to google Images there are suddenly loads of them.
The DWY intro emphasises certain trigrams on each line of the script.
ie. marvel at the world? Gen in sw of Bagua
This trigram is now gone all black. No lines
The eight updates could be 8 tests = 1 for trigram
The bagua is the key to events methinks and is conveniently a compass & a watch face aswell!
I said it several times, and I'll say it once again: they DON'T have to give us updates to this ARG only once in a week. TLE was running for 5 months, yet they provided us regular updates. This thing is supposed to run for 5 or 6 months too.
I guess it's just laziness from Hoodlum's part.
I'm going to remain optimistic and hope that this ARG is just having a slow start. Maybe after some of the testing (or even when 'official' testing begins), it'll pick up it's pace and satisfy us all. I don't think that this game will be like TLE, on the other hand. Like others have said, it was TOO fast paced for some. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved TLE, but I do agree that it was fast paced. I'd go to school, come back home, and a whole load of stuff had happened while I was gone. It even distracted me from my homework, which wasn't good (obviously ;D). Even so, if this isn't incredibly fast paced, I think there will be things happening for the people who really get into the games and for the people who just want to simply..play the game without having to do all kinds of work, if that makes any sense.
I do know that I'm sticking in the game...because like with LOST, people get too impatient and end up missing out on something amazing in the long run. At least I hope the game will please us all. Even though it's killing me to wait this long...I'm just uber happy that they gave us something to do during the very, very, very long hiatus.
Sorry for rambling on. It's seven in the morning and I've been up all night! Time for me to go to bed....
sorry, but shouldn't this have been considered a spoiler...since now i know (from reading the post, not the content of the letter) that i will be getting an email on friday from DI? i think i just got spoiled.

James, if your that sensitive to spoilers that knowing that you will get an email on Friday then I think this site probably isn't for you.
We cover up the contents of the email and warn you but if that is still too spoilerly for you you might want to avoid this site I'm afraid.
I'm glad that we're gonna have something to do by Monday, I am really impatient but also thankful, LOST is the only show that provides us with something to do while we wait.

Wow - you think that is a spoiler. It is just a game it isn't the show. This is how we play these ARG's. We all look for clues to help us along sometimes way before they are actually released. I would have to say this is not a spoiler - it gave me some hope that this game will begin soon.
My post was a poorly executed joke. Just thought it was funny how we were told that there was a hacked email to be launched on Friday, yet the email itself was considered a spoiler.
To clarify, I do realize that if you are in the OGR section you're probably to impatient to waiting for the ARG to unfold in front of you. My apologies.

Tworems, there is a difference between Lost being real and Lost is a tv show based on real events that happened to real people. What Rachel Blake did in TLE only proved that Dharma Initiative and the Hanso Foundation are real (in the ARG sense). But that's not the same as saying Lost is not a tv show.

I'm confused about how they're referring to Lost and stuff. Then how do they explain all the stuff going on during the show in correlation to the ARG?
